Gameplay
It’s not Forza fantastic, sure, but for mobile it’s pretty damn good looking, and EA has amassed a large stable of licensed cars for players to run around the various real world tracks. The amount of game modes keeps things interesting for a while, from head to head races to top speed tests to 2+ car circuit races. In this sense, the game is a racing simulator, rather than a balls out crash-fest like a Need for Speed or Burnout. There are no insane crashes, just gentle nudges on the track. Your car gets damaged if you brush walls, and periodically has to be serviced for maintenance.Feature of Game
But a hallmark of racing simulators is generally the controls. You have to know how to ease your car around the track, braking at just the right time and flooring the accelerator at other moments. With Real Racing, that’s out of most players’ hands. Not only acceleration, but braking as well is taken out of your control. You simply are responsible for tilting your phone (or iPad) and guiding your car around the track. As you’ll automatically brake for turns, you simply have to steer around other cars and not crash into walls or drive on grass or sand. There is the option to remove most of these assists, giving you more freedom over your car. But experimenting with that mode yielded disastrous results for me, and the vast majority of players will be better off letting the game handle the load. But if you do, it does feel like you’re not much of an active participant, so it’s kind of a conundrum.Real Racing constantly boasts about something called “Time Shifted Multiplayer.” What it means is that all the cars you race against are not AI controlled bots. Rather, they’re real people who have completed the race before you. Their times have been logged and they’ll be inserted in the race with you, completing the course the way they have previously as you try to match them.Graphics and Sounds
In truth, Sam and Nina could be robots and we wouldn't know the difference. It’s kind of an odd system. You won’t see players veering out of control or crashing into walls. Not ever. Rather, you’d simply just see those cars driving normally, a bit slower than average. This also means there is very, very minimal interaction with other cars. My favorite parts of racing games are shoving cars into walls, or hammering them around corners, but that’s not possible here as you can only nudge cars a foot or two at the most. I’ve certainly never caused a crash, other than one that involved my own car plowing into a wall after misjudging a turn. Other racers are simply moving brick walls to navigate around, and there are literally no dynamic events that can happen in races except you screwing up on your own.Time Shifted Multiplayer can also result in frustrating events. Sometimes you’ll run into a few racers that have upgraded their high level cars to the max so you can simply never catch them.Real Racing 3 is a kind of free game which is worth of your try on Android platform. If you are interested in it. You can download it on your Android device as soon as possible. In the game, you simply guide your car along the track, hoping to avoid any calamitous wall hits and praying that your upgrades are enough to get you remotely close to first place. Have fun and play well.
